Managing hundreds or thousands of mobile devices across campuses or field locations requires more than just location tracking — it demands real-time visibility and immediate control. That’s why we’re excited to announce a major enhancement to Senturo’s locking mechanism: Lock Status Visibility and One-Click Unlock.
This update brings critical improvements to the way IT teams monitor and manage locked devices, especially in large-scale deployments like K-12 school districts, healthcare networks, and field service teams.
Until now, devices locked via Senturo required a passcode set by an administrator to be physically entered to unlock the device. Additionally, IT teams had no direct view into which devices were currently locked or unlocked from the dashboard without manual tagging.
With this update, you can now:
These enhancements ensure you always know the current state of your devices and can act quickly — whether a student returns a lost Chromebook or a field technician needs their device restored.
Real-time lock status and one-click unlock reduce the manual steps between a device being recovered and it being back in a student or employee's hands. For teams running large deployments, the dashboard now acts as a single source of truth for device state, not just location.
Whether in education, healthcare, or other regulated environments, this update ensures your devices stay secure, accessible, and easy to manage—no matter where they are.
The new Lock Status and One-Click Unlock feature is available now to all Senturo customers. No additional configuration is required. Open the device table in your Senturo dashboard and the lock status column will be visible by default. For setup guidance, visit the Senturo Knowledge Base.
Lock status is visible for any device that has been locked via the Senturo dashboard. This includes Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, iOS, and Android devices enrolled in Senturo.
Yes. Admins can now unlock a device remotely from the dashboard without issuing or entering a passcode. The device returns to normal operation immediately on next use.
Any team member granted unlock permissions by a full admin. Delegation is role-scoped and does not carry over other admin privileges.
Lock Status and One-Click Unlock apply to Senturo-initiated locks. MDM-native locks (Jamf Lost Mode, Intune lock) are managed through their respective consoles and are displayed separately in Senturo where integration data is available.
The feature is included for all Senturo customers at no additional charge.
